Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Spectra Journal, also referred to as Spectra OS (the "Service"), available at spectrajournal.com and associated domains. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What Spectra is — and is not
Spectra is a journaling, self-analysis and productivity tool for traders. It stores the data you enter (trades, reflections, check-ins, accounts, payouts) and presents statistics, visualizations and rule-based insights computed from that data.
Spectra is not a broker, is not a financial advisor, and does not provide financial, investment, legal or tax advice. Nothing in the Service — including readiness signals, "Edge Finder" directives, Cold Truth reports, psychology scores or the tax estimator — constitutes a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any financial instrument, or to take or refrain from any trading action. All trading decisions are yours alone.
2. Eligibility & accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for keeping your login credentials secure.
- One account per person. You may not share, sell or transfer your account.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or abuse the Service.
3. Subscriptions & billing
- The free plan includes limited functionality (including a cap on stored trades).
- Pro is offered at $29/month or $249/year (prices may change with notice; changes never apply retroactively to an already-paid period).
- We may occasionally grant free access to Pro features at our discretion (for example promotional periods). Any such access ends automatically and reverts your account to the free plan.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
- Memberships may also be activated manually by Spectra (for example after direct payment arrangements or promotions).
4. Your data
- The content you enter (trades, notes, reflections, screenshots, account details) remains yours.
- Data is stored with Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Storage) in accordance with Google's security practices. Access rules restrict your data to your own authenticated account, with the exception of designated Service administrators for support and membership management.
- We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your trading data with third parties except as required to operate the Service (e.g. Google Firebase) or by law.
- You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Close account. Deletion is permanent.
- Local caches of your data may be stored in your browser (localStorage) to make the Service fast; clearing browser data removes them.
5. Tax estimator
The tax estimator produces rough, simplified estimates based on published headline rates. It does not account for your residency details, deductions, account types (e.g. ISK), local rules, professional-trader classifications, or rate changes. It is not tax advice. Always verify with a qualified tax professional or your tax authority before making decisions.
6. Prop firm independence
Spectra is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any proprietary trading firm mentioned in the Service (including FTMO, Topstep, Apex Trader Funding and others named in suggestion lists). Firm names appear solely as user-convenience labels for organizing your own accounts. All figures shown in the prop firm tracker are entered and maintained by you.
7. Acceptable use
- No attempts to access other users' data, probe or circumvent security rules, or disrupt the Service.
- No scraping, reselling or white-labelling of the Service without written permission.
- No uploading of unlawful content or content you lack rights to (this includes screenshots).
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-interruption. Statistics and insights are computed from the data you enter; incorrect input produces incorrect output. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free or continuously available.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spectra and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages — including trading losses, lost profits, failed prop firm challenges, tax outcomes, or loss of data — arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
10. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We continuously improve the Service; features may be added, changed or removed. We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced in the Service or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms. Sections 5, 6, 8, 9 and 12 survive termination.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Disputes shall be resolved by Swedish courts, unless mandatory consumer law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
